"Foster's Island Rule Applied to Lake Monsters" - An explanation for freshwater lake monsters

Here is a short essay of around 1,000 words based on a thread I posted on another forum a while back. At the time, there were reports about a Loch Ness research team that had concluded that giant eels were the best guess for the Loch Ness Monster. However, rogue waves, temperature inversions, and partly submerged trees, along with otters, have been proposed as well for different sightings.

As far as I know, "insular gigantism," based on Foster's Island Rule theory, has never been applied to theories on identifying freshwater lake monsters, such as freshwater sea serpents.
